Opening world of opportunities, pathways for our students

114 Milpitas High School Extension students and 20 MUSD team members traveled this week to UCLA, USC, Cal Poly, CSU Monterey, Vandenberg Space Force, and Warner Brothers where they experienced the possibilities of pathways to career in engineering, computer science, classical and digital arts, and entrepreneurship. Through networking with professionals, engaging with experts, and collaborating in diverse learning experiences, students are developing essential skills that will shape their future endeavors. They share an excitement for their capacity to create and contribute to our world. Thank you MHS Extension Team for making what’s possible a reality!
Rose School welcomed the Spartan football players for the SJSU Recess Takeover organized by Rose Team members and parents for 147 students to experience the joy of athletics and team-building skills. Thank you Rose Team & Families for your vision!
Calaveras Hills High School teacher Ms. Zesati-Quezada inspires 17 learners enrolled in her course, Introduction to the Digital Media Industry, to explore the magic of artistic expression through audio visual arts. Ms. Z has partnered with the non-profit Early Morning Late Nights to provide them with professional skills development. Our learners are thrilled by the capacity they have in using social media and digital tools in a way that gives life to their insights about the world around them. Thank you Ms. Zesati-Quezada and CHHS community for your commitment to excellence!
The middle school years are a difficult time in adolescence for many as we strive for a sense of self-efficacy and belonging. It is an awkward age of wrestling between standing out and fitting in. To discover both through the literal art of wrestling is a super power for life. 40 of our Rancho and Russell middle school students are flourishing in the opportunity to be a part of our MUSD middle school wrestling team with Coach Clemente. To Coach and the 6 MUSD team members, 5 community assistant coaches, and 6 high school wrestlers, thank you for creating the opportunity for our middle school students to be empowered in mind, body, and spirit!
Artistic expression shines throughout our schools, and in Ms. Barber’s classroom at Sinnott, it flourishes. Ms. Barber’s 23 second graders experimented with different art mediums to illustrate family, place, and space. They had the opportunity to talk about their masterpieces with parents and community members in an early morning art show. Thank you Ms. Barber for designing a path in developing essential career presentation skills through self-expression and public speaking!
Fall is a time to celebrate the multitude of colors and changes in the environment around us. It is a grand opportunity to immerse preschool children in learning about nature, community and science. 104 of our little ones delighted in the opportunity to explore as an interconnected Family at the MUSD Child Development Centers Fall Festival. Thank you to our 27 team members at Rose and Sunnyhills CDCs for designing scientific and communication skills foundations in a way that includes the parents and caregivers of our preschoolers in play-based pathways to their future careers!
1085 MUSD Team members supported by 5 MUSD Board members invest time in establishing learning opportunities such as these every day for our 10,251 preschool thru high school and more than 1,000 adult learners in partnership with 20,000+ parents and caregivers and our greater MUSD community. It is with profound gratitude for each of you that I say, THANK YOU!
Happy Thanksgiving to All,
