President Cancer Kids First

Cancer Kids First (CKF) is one of the largest youth-led nonprofit organizations supporting pediatric cancer patients. The Milpitas chapter of Cancer Kids First, led by president Jessica Le, was established to bring students together to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families affected by pediatric cancer, especially those facing financial hardship or long hospital stays.

Milpitas CKF has organized a variety of service projects and events, such as card-making activities, care package workshops, and bake sales to raise money for this cause. Our most recent event was the UC Davis STEM Workshop, featuring lessons to expose young kids to STEM content and hands-on activities. We ultimately raised and donated around $2,000 to UC Davis Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders General Support Fund. Another one of our most recent events is our Jacob’s Heart Donation Drive, where we assembled donation boxes to distribute to schools in Milpitas. Through this effort, the chapter collected over 500 toys, books, and clothing items to support children and families in need.

None of these accomplishments would have been possible without the dedication of our student volunteers and the generosity of families who donated. We hope to continue bringing awareness to this important cause while supporting children and families. No one deserves to face cancer, especially a child, and we want every child and family to know that they are not alone. The Milpitas Cancer Kids First chapter looks forward to continuing its efforts and finding new ways to support those affected by pediatric cancer.
